Perioperative Nursing Training Program is intended to give the experienced nurse a basic foundation of perioperative theory and practice. The program will include didactic and clinical rotations that will focus on perioperative theory, skills, and competency practice. The course will be based on the professional role of the Registered Nurse in the operating room as defined in the AORN Standards of Perioperative Nursing Practice.

Emergency Nurse Training Program is a 13 week training program will combine both didactic emergency department nursing concepts and clinical training with dedicated preceptors followed by a 13 week mentorship immediately following. The Emergency Department Nurse training core staff will instruct the didactic portion. One hundred thirty six hours of clinical training will be offered directly at Seton Medical Center's Emergency Department. Course content adapted from "Orientation to Emergency Nursing Concepts, competencies & Critical Thinking, by ENA."

Critical Care Nurse Training Program is a 16 week formal training program designed for registered nurses who are interested in learning the fundamental principles in caring for critically ill patients in the hospital setting. Training will include both didactic and clinical practicum.

American Heart Training Center
Certification and Recertification Classes are offered on-site on a monthly and quarterly basis. Seton has a pool of qualified, experienced instructors who are registered nurses for each of these courses:

  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
